Contract Finance Administrator - 12months

An organised and detail-oriented Finance Administrator is sought to cover a period of maternity leave. This full-time role is based on the Isle of Man, and encompasses responsibilities essential for supporting a busy finance team. The selected candidate will manage day-to-day accounting procedures, process invoices, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records to ensure smooth business operations. This role will involve preparing and processing supplier payments, maintaining banking records, and assisting with VAT return preparation. The Finance Administrator will need to raise sales invoices promptly and ensure compliance with internal controls. They will also support the month-end process and maintain orderly financial documentation. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, for a duration of 12 months.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and process supplier payments in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate banking records and reconcile accounts regularly.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and assist with resolving any payment queries.
  • Raise sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all invoices comply with internal controls and documentation requirements.
  • Assist in gathering and organising data for VAT return preparation.
  • Help prepare quarterly VAT returns under supervision.
  • Ensure VAT records are complete, accurate, and maintained in line with HMRC requirements.
  • Maintain cashbooks and daily cash records.
  • Assist with reconciling cash and bank accounts.
  • Support the month-end process with journals, reconciliations, and trial balance checks.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date financial files and documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a finance administration, accounts assistant, or bookkeeping role.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to existing processes during a handover period, manage workloads, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Competent IT skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
