Director, Global Accounting

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to join a dynamic Global Accounting team. The Director will lead high-performing teams and build strong client relationships while ensuring the delivery of exceptional financial reporting outcomes. Working within a collaborative and multi-jurisdictional environment, the successful applicant will oversee complex accounting and financial reporting matters, contributing to the growth and development of colleagues through effective coaching and leadership. There will also be a focus on business development initiatives aimed at strengthening client relationships. Job Duties:

  • Lead, manage and develop team members, ensuring work is planned, prioritised and delivered to agreed deadlines and service standards.
  • Review and oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, management accounts, and other client reporting, including complex accounting matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, auditors, and third-party service providers, including supporting the onboarding of new clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across jurisdictions to provide accounting guidance, resolve queries, and deliver a consistent client experience.
  • Monitor accounting records and reporting deadlines, ensuring records are maintained accurately and regulatory obligations are met.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying efficiencies and promoting effective use of technology and accounting systems.
  • Deliver internal training and coaching to support the development of colleagues and build technical capability across the business.
  • Identify and support business development opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
  • Present financial information clearly and effectively to client boards, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Assess and manage risks to both clients and the firm, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or qualified by relevant experience, with in-depth technical knowledge and practical application of UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams, including coaching, delegation, and performance management.
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex accounting engagements and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to make sound commercial decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting matters clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
