Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant to join their Governance Services team in Guernsey. This full-time position focuses on providing high-quality accounting services to a portfolio of corporate real estate structures, ensuring the accurate preparation and review of financial statements, management reports, and valuations. The Senior Accountant will work closely with clients, auditors, and colleagues to build trusted relationships and provide practical accounting support. You will play a crucial role in working on complex transactions while applying your technical accounting knowledge to deliver efficient and professional services, contributing significantly to our client's mission.
JOB DUTIES:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in client entity databases, including Viewpoint and Quickbooks.
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual reports.
- Prepare and review periodic reports, capital account statements, and net asset valuations, as required.
- Focus on privately held corporate real estate structures, ensuring thorough understanding of transactions and clients.
- Liaise regularly with management to ensure effective oversight of client engagements.
- Collaborate with colleagues and team members to manage client expectations and meet accounting deadlines.
- Provide explanations, advice, and accounting support to client administration and colleagues as needed.
- Ensure consistency in accounting service levels across all clients and address any queries promptly.
- Maintain trusted relationships with clients, auditors, and third-party service providers.
- Demonstrate awareness of the integration of Governance Services across jurisdictions while upholding the firm's policies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
- Qualified ACCA/ACA or relevant experience with strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, including practical application.
- Experience with accounting systems, particularly Viewpoint and Quickbooks, would be advantageous.
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel, with on-the-job coaching available.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively in order to meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional, proactive, and service-orientated approach with discretion and good judgement.
