Our client is seeking a Senior Manager to play a pivotal role in driving the business forward in alignment with the Strategy, Business Plan, and Key Performance Indicators. This position is client-facing and involves managing a portfolio of clients while ensuring quality and compliance with the company's standards. You will lead and mentor the wider team, conducting performance appraisals and handling HR matters as they arise. Occasional business travel may be required for this full-time and permanent role based in Guernsey. In this key position, you will be responsible for undertaking business development initiatives to generate new business opportunities. You will collaborate with senior management, supporting the delegation and oversight of the wider team to ensure all deliverables meet the expected service levels.
JOB DUTIES:
- Assist senior management in managing, delegating to, and overseeing the wider team to ensure all deliverables are met in accordance with service level agreements.
- Act as an Authorised “B” Signatory where applicable.
- Serve as a key contact for a portfolio of clients, building strong and trusted relationships.
- Attend external board and committee meetings, prepare all related documentation, and perform all required actions following the meetings, including drafting minutes.
- Provide advice and support to Boards in alignment with individual skills and experience.
- Manage and undertake bespoke client projects, both ad-hoc and long-term.
- Develop and maintain governance-related policies and procedures for clients.
- Review the incorporation of entities, ensuring that statutory filings and payments are completed within legal timeframes.
- Handle registered office and resident agent related work.
- Offer pragmatic solutions to clients to satisfy regulatory obligations and governance requirements.
- Support and develop the wider team while monitoring utilisation.
- Manage direct reports, including delivering performance appraisals and assisting with employment-related matters such as interviews.
- Lead or contribute to internal company initiatives, including the development of templates, policies, and procedures that ensure best practices in corporate governance and company secretarial principles.
- Deliver and attend training sessions for clients and internal staff.
- Promote the company’s values consistently and positively to both new and existing clients and contacts.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as requested by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess a professional, client-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships while upholding the company’s reputation and values.
- Demonstrate a sound practical knowledge of relevant statutory and governance requirements and best practices.
- Exhibit a strong knowledge of onboarding and due diligence requirements in compliance with the Guernsey AML/CFT/CPF legislation.
- Show excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling confident engagement with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Display a collaborative attitude and contribute positively within both internal teams and client contexts.
- Adapt management style to lead and motivate individuals with varying personalities, experience levels, and working styles.
- Possess strong analytical skills with a proactive problem-solving mindset, capable of critical thinking and decisive action.

- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn and utilise new software tools.
- Uphold high levels of integrity while dealing with sensitive matters.
- Have relevant experience in the finance sector, ideally in company secretarial, fund administration, or trust administration roles, demonstrating the full spectrum of company secretarial responsibilities.
- Show experience of attending board and committee meetings, including preparation of meeting packs and drafting high-quality minutes for complex discussions.
- Demonstrate technical governance experience and expertise.
- Show previous experience effectively managing a team.
- Hold a relevant professional qualification, including TEP, CGI (ICSA), IOD, MSc, or similar.
