Contract Senior Project Manager - 6 months

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team on a six-month contract in the Isle of Man. This full-time position will involve managing projects independently and supporting the Head of Change Management in implementing business initiatives. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive strategic change across the organisation. This role is ideal for a candidate with a banking or finance background who has experience in managing projects and driving process improvements. While technology knowledge is beneficial, strong process improvement skills will be the primary focus. As a Senior Project Manager, you will work alongside four other Project Managers, contributing to a dynamic and progressive team environment.

JOB DUTIES:

  • You will scope, plan, and manage key projects, ensuring delivery from initiation through to closure.
  • You will define and manage the delivery of identified outputs to meet business objectives and support the achievement of strategic benefits.
  • You will establish and maintain appropriate governance and control measures, including risk, issue, and quality management, to facilitate effective reporting and escalation.
  • You will work with the business to redesign and improve processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • You will create and execute detailed project work plans, adjusting as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • You will provide input for resource allocation and project dashboards for presentation at the Change Management Committee (CMC).
  • You will track, manage, and escalate issues and risks, developing remediation or mitigation plans as required.
  • You will actively share best practices within the team and across the organisation.
  • You will manage cross-location project teams if necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must have ten years of experience leading and delivering business change projects.
  • You should possess experience in delivering strategic or large-scale projects.
  • You must demonstrate the ability to work across various business lines and locations, navigating multi-jurisdictional teams.
  • You should have familiarity with process modelling, workshop facilitation, and structured analysis techniques.
  • You must possess advanced skills in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organisation.
  • Your ability to plan, organise, and prioritise your workload while working independently is essential.
  • It would be advantageous to have knowledge of SharePoint.
  • Exposure to project management methodologies like Prince2, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
  • You should demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, organisational, and negotiation skills, along with a results-driven approach.
