Our client is seeking a Senior Administrator to join their team, providing accounting, financial reporting, and treasury services to a portfolio of Guernsey-regulated insurance clients. This full-time position is an opportunity to engage in significant accounting activities within the insurance sector while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting the management team. In this role, you will focus on preparing management accounts, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting audit deliverables, among other responsibilities. Your expertise will contribute to all day-to-day accounting activities essential to the smooth operation of the client accounting services.
JOB DUTIES:
- You will be responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts.
- You will maintain accurate accounting records and ledgers.
- You will perform bank, premium, claims, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- You will process journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- You will account for premiums, claims, commissions, and reinsurance transactions.
- You will manage cash movements, payment processing, and cash flow monitoring.
- You will assist with statutory financial statements and annual audits.
- You will support regulatory and solvency reporting requirements.
- You will prepare financial information for boards, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- You will assist with process improvements and maintenance of financial controls.
- You will support the wider Client Accounting team with their duties.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- You must be AAT qualified, part-qualified or a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
- You should have experience in financial accounting and reporting.
- Strong Excel and reconciliation skills are essential.
- You must possess excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- You should be able to manage multiple deadlines and client relationships.
- Desirable attributes include insurance accounting experience.
- A knowledge of insurance operations would be beneficial.
- Experience in regulatory reporting is preferred.
- Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and financial services environments is advantageous.
