Contract Financial Crime Compliance Specialist - 12 months

Our client is seeking a Financial Crime Compliance Specialist for a 12-month maternity cover contract in Jersey. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing and managing compliance frameworks within the Group Corporate Functions. This role involves advising on compliance standards and ensuring that business operations are conducted in adherence to relevant internal policies and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will work closely with various teams to provide guidance on financial crime compliance, contributing to strategic planning and operationalisation across the organisation.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Implement Group Financial Crime Compliance (GFCC) Policies, Standards, and Procedures within the Business Area.
  • Define and implement the GFCC Business Area Strategy.
  • Provide specialist GFCC-related guidance and advice to ensure compliance and mitigate operational risks.
  • Identify and address GFCC-specific awareness and training needs to prevent operational losses, fines, penalties, or reputational damage.
  • Advise on the collection, capturing, and maintenance of data to ensure reliable information guiding critical business decisions.
  • Contribute to setting the Centre of Excellence (CoE) technology plan in line with the Group Compliance Function's strategy.
  • Provide domain expertise to develop relevant technological requirements, adhering to technology standards developed by the IT Function.
  • Participate in oversight committees and forums to monitor the implementation of the Internal Control Framework.
  • Engage in governance structures to comply with governmental, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
  • Stay updated on relevant trends and typologies to inform the compliance framework and raise awareness of potential risks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum qualification of a First Degree in Risk Management.
  • 3-4 years of experience in Group Anti-Financial Crime roles.
  • 5-7 years in Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) within the banking or financial industry.
  • Profound knowledge of compliance and the ability to influence stakeholders across different countries and business areas.
  • Expertise in FCC frameworks, risk assessments, and risk-based approaches to compliance.
  • Strong understanding of banking products, processes, systems, and data.
