Our client is seeking a Risk Review Officer for a temporary position with a duration of 12 months. This full-time role is situated within a professional services organisation. The successful applicant will play a crucial part in safeguarding the organisation's reputation and assets while managing potential threats to business objectives, particularly during the onboarding of new clients and the maintenance of existing client relationships. The position requires a solid understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to the role, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures. The primary focus of this role involves conducting thorough client onboarding processes, reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance, and liaising with relevant stakeholders to obtain necessary information. Additionally, the role requires undertaking enhanced Customer Due Diligence for high-risk profiles and maintaining accurate documentation as changes occur.
JOB DUTIES:
- New client onboarding, including reviewing applications and internal documentation while completing risk assessments and required searches. Careful evaluation of client-supplied documentation to ensure it meets compliance standards.
- Liaison with Intermediaries or Relationship Managers to obtain additional information for new client take-on.
- Conducting enhanced due diligence for high-risk and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) relationships, working in collaboration with Relationship Managers.
- Updating client information following trigger events and identifying errors that necessitate risk reassessments.
- Following established trigger escalation processes and ensuring timely closure of reviews.
- Supporting periodic reviews and quality assurance processes as needed.
- Assisting with compliance tasks related to the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standard (CRS).
- Monitoring overnight screening results as required.
- Coordinating the PEP annual review process, including data collation and necessary research.
- Undertaking changes to static data and client account amendments as required.
- Managing own client accounts and tasks to ensure timely progress and closure of completed items.
- Supporting organisational change initiatives and suggesting improvements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Some experience in regulatory risk management within a sizeable financial institution.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work consistently.
- An inquisitive mindset combined with persistence and the ability to complete projects within deadlines.
- Proven organisational, planning, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation capabilities, facilitating effective information sharing and persuasion.
- Strong influencing skills to engage with Relationship Managers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently while escalating issues when necessary.
- Comprehensive understanding of account opening processes, Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements, and risk review processes.
- In-depth knowledge of client structures for effective collection of due diligence and compliance with regulations.
- Detailed understanding of FATCA and CRS requirements.
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting the organisation.
- Analytical skills to recognise patterns and construct reasonable conclusions from data.
- Proficiency in AI-enabled productivity tools to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
