JOB DUTIES:

  • Regularly review written tax advice in the form of memos, letters, reports, and email correspondence.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of individual clients and oversee the tax reporting cycle for those clients, including both Jersey and UK tax affairs.
  • Develop strong and trusted relationships within the Jersey fiduciary and private client market by attending business events and hosting training sessions on private client-focused topics.
  • Prepare proposals and tender documents for new client relationships and engagements.
  • Identify and support business development opportunities while building confidence and skills in external networking and client engagement.
  • Manage engagement-specific finances, including oversight of work in progress, billing, cash collection, and job budgeting.
  • Build strong internal relationships with leadership and management across other service lines, such as international, corporate, and business services teams.
  • Act as a central point of contact for communication with clients, providing expert advice on tax implications arising from their affairs.
  • Stay informed on changes in local and international tax matters, assisting with the production of news bulletins for clients.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members by providing feedback and relevant training.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • A strong sense of initiative and proven ability to manage large and varied projects with resilience, especially under pressure.
  • Previous experience in a practice accounting environment with familiarity in client onboarding and risk management procedures.
  • Qualified ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA, ATT, or equivalent.
  • Competent knowledge of Jersey and UK personal tax issues, including income, capital gains, inheritance, and other taxes.

WHAT YOU’LL LOVE:

The role offers a competitive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience, hybrid working conditions, and an open-door policy, along with opportunities for secondments abroad. Our client promotes a healthy work-life balance with flexible vacation schemes, medical and pension schemes, and a well-established corporate social responsibility program that underscores their commitment to employee wellbeing.
