Our client is seeking a Tax Lead to join their Finance and Procurement team on a part-time basis (18.75 hours per week, spread over 5 days) in either Jersey or Guernsey. The role offers the possibility of increased hours for the right candidate. The successful applicant will manage the tax affairs for the firm across the Channel Islands, handling both local and cross-border tax matters, while ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations. Job Duties:
- Act as a subject matter expert in tax risk controls and compliance.
- Provide advice on client contracts involving overseas travel and virtual working.
- Prepare local tax calculations, oversee tax payments, and process tax returns and submissions.
- Liaise with UK and Network Tax Leads, external tax advisors, and the Firm’s Tax Partner.
- Ensure all local and cross-border tax rules are met, working closely with cross-border subject matter experts within the network.
- Support business growth while managing tax risks effectively.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified tax or accountant with a recognised accounting body (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA, CIA, CISA) or international equivalent.
- Good understanding of tax law in either Jersey or Guernsey.
- Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of financial processes and controls.
- Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple assignments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Flexibility and adaptability in meeting team and business goals.
- Innovative mindset with a willingness to embrace technology for process improvement.
