Our client is looking for a Senior / Systems Administrator IT to join their Risk and Operations division. The role involves supporting the IT infrastructure, ensuring the efficient operation of systems and databases, and contributing to IT projects. As part of the team, you will be responsible for optimising, troubleshooting, and maintaining both on-premises and cloud infrastructure. Job Duties:
- Assist in the delivery of high-quality prudential, financial crime, and conduct regulation within the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
- Support the IT team in providing effective IT support and solutions for daily operational challenges.
- Maintain and optimise the IT systems and databases, including security monitoring of online portals and public-facing infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
- Monitor and troubleshoot IT systems and databases, ensuring peak performance and resolving issues promptly.
- Work with business area representatives and development resources to implement solutions for software and systems.
- Manage IT projects according to the project management framework.
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers as required, ensuring smooth operations and project success.
- Provide telephone and desktop support to internal users and partners.
- Maintain documentation of IT systems, procedures, and issues using required standards.
- Contribute to meetings and represent IT on focus groups as necessary.
- Keep IT management informed of risks, issues, and opportunities within the IT infrastructure.
Job Requirements:
- Strong background in IT infrastructure management, both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Experience with system administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Ability to install, configure, and maintain hardware and software across various systems.
- Familiarity with security monitoring and maintaining public-facing infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise documentation and support to internal users.
- Proven ability to work with business representatives, internal and external developers, and end users to implement solutions.
- Experience in managing IT projects and collaborating with third-party suppliers.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours when required.
- Proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving, with excellent time management and organisational skills.
