Temporary Network Operations Administrator - 6 months

Our client is seeking a Temporary Network Operations Administrator for a six-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Head of Asset Management and Operations, this full-time role is responsible for supporting asset operations by providing administrative support to the technical administration and LPG operations teams. Based in Guernsey, the role involves coordinating operational data, liaising with suppliers and customers, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and administrative policies.

 

Job Duties:

  • Provide administrative support to the network department, including processing purchase orders and invoices.
  • Maintain and update various operational spreadsheets, including plant output, ship planning, CV data, and daily stock sheets.
  • Scan and organise paperwork, such as call-out sheets, visitor logs, and operational checklists.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to coordinate service requirements.
  • Prepare preliminary end-of-month statistics and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate visitor and meeting arrangements, including catering when required.
  • Handle phone calls and messages as necessary.
  • Manage and update information systems, including job records, road closures, and internal communications.
  • Oversee personal welfare administration, including holidays, sickness, and rota updates.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies in all operational activities.
  • Identify opportunities for performance and process improvements.
  • Stay up to date with technical innovations relevant to the operational and administrative functions.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Strong IT skills across Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Customer service skills with a professional and proactive approach.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively within a team.
  • Problem-solving skills, offering ideas and solutions to resolve issues.
  • Awareness of data protection policies and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in a utilities or similar industry would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance is desirable.
  • Experience working within a continuous improvement culture is desirable.
