Temporary Client Operations Assistant Manager - 6 months

Our client is urgently seeking a Client Operations Assistant Manager to join their Jersey-based team on a six-month fixed-term contract. This role will support the administration of FATCA/CRS and Jersey tax reporting requirements during a peak period, while also providing broader support during the parental leave of permanent colleagues. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and administrative experience within the industry. Exposure to FATCA/CRS regulations would be an advantage but is not essential. Our client is looking for someone who is available immediately or at short notice. Candidates at Manager or Senior Manager level with experience in tax reporting will also be considered, with flexibility for reduced or part-time working hours. The salary is flexible, depending on experience.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a knowledge base for tax and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Assist with parental leave cover for permanent colleagues in relation to data and banking.
  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of data and delivery of key data-related projects.
  • Coordinate and complete FATCA/CRS reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Register clients with tax authorities and maintain relevant log-in details.
  • Support annual tax reviews and ensure adherence to reporting procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage corporate Jersey tax returns and compliance with Economic Substance requirements.
  • Assist client teams with foreign tax reporting obligations.
  • Enhance and refine governance procedures to improve compliance and efficiency.
  • Oversee data management processes, including onboarding, banking information, and client register updates.
  • Supervise and support junior colleagues, including workflow management, training, and appraisals.
  • Provide general support to the team, including systems and project work.

Job Requirements:

  • A relevant professional qualification, such as ICSA Diploma, STEP Diploma, or Accountancy (Table 4 qualification).
  • A minimum of six years’ experience in administration, compliance, client operations, or a similar field.
  • Strong organisational skills and administrative experience within the industry.
  • Knowledge of client financial statements and AEOI (FATCA/CRS) requirements would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting Jersey tax returns for trusts and corporate entities.
  • Familiarity with data control and management processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of local finance industry legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities, with experience in delegating and motivating team members.
