Our client is seeking an experienced SME – Private Equity Administration to join their Global Private Capital Services team based in Jersey. This full-time position will involve the accurate administration and accounting of open and closed-ended investment companies, unit trusts, and limited partnerships with a focus on private equity, property, and infrastructure funds. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, manage client relationships, and support the Head of Fund Accounting, with a strong emphasis on leadership, process improvement, and service delivery.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and oversee monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients
- Prepare and oversee annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS, or AUS
- Manage key deliverables in accordance with service level agreements or equivalent
- Calculate management fees, carried interest, distribution amounts, and perform waterfall calculations
- Manage year-end audits and respond to auditor queries
- Ensure compliance with client documentation and internal processes and procedures
- Investigate and respond to client queries
- Attend client meetings and assist in preparing proposal documents and participating in new business pitches
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide support to the Head of Fund Accounting
- Contribute to and lead ad-hoc projects
- Develop, review, and implement procedures, identifying areas for improvement
- Remain up to date with technical developments in the fund industry
- Coach, mentor, and supervise junior staff in accordance with HR policies
Job Requirements:
- Professionally qualified accountant, ideally ACA or ACCA or equivalent
- Proven ability to prepare final accounts from source documentation
- Strong prioritisation and organisational skills with a focus on completing tasks efficiently
- Able to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Experienced in supervising and reviewing the work of junior staff
- Excellent motivational, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Competent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, or IFRS (training available if required)
- Understanding of private equity, property, and infrastructure funds is advantageous
- Familiarity with Jersey fund structures and regulatory requirements is desirable
