Temporary SME Private Equity Administration

Our client is seeking a subject matter expert in Private Equity Administration to join their Global Private Capital Services team in Jersey. This is a full-time position responsible for the accurate accounting and administration of open and closed-ended investment companies, unit trusts, and limited partnerships, primarily focused on private equity, property, and infrastructure funds. The successful candidate will manage a client portfolio, lead technical delivery, contribute to business development, and support internal team development. Flexibility is required for occasional domestic and international travel.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and oversee monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients
  • Prepare and review annual financial statements in line with UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS, or AUS
  • Manage key deliverables in accordance with service level agreements
  • Calculate management fees, carried interest, distribution amounts, and perform waterfall calculations
  • Manage year-end audits and respond to auditor queries
  • Ensure compliance with client documentation and internal procedures
  • Investigate and resolve client queries
  • Participate in client meetings and assist in preparing proposal documents and attending new business pitches
  • Lead and contribute to ad-hoc projects
  • Develop, review, and implement processes and procedures, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Keep up to date with relevant technical developments within the fund industry
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise staff in line with company policies
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support the Head of Fund Accounting

Job Requirements:

  • Professionally qualified accountant, ideally ACA or ACCA or equivalent
  • Proven ability to prepare final accounts from source documentation
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Able to work independently and take full ownership of tasks
  • Experience in supervising and reviewing junior staff’s work
  • Excellent communication, motivational, and presentation skills
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Excel
  • In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, or IFRS (training provided if required)
  • Understanding of private equity, property, and infrastructure funds is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Jersey fund structures and local regulatory requirements is desirable
