Temporary Fund Accountant

Our client is seeking a Fund Accountant to join their Global Private Capital Services team, based in Jersey. This full-time position involves the efficient and accurate accounting and administration of both open-ended and closed-ended investment companies, unit trusts, and limited partnerships, principally for private equity, property, and infrastructure funds. The successful candidate will contribute to fund valuations, financial reporting, and audits, while supporting service delivery across a diverse portfolio of clients.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and oversee monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients
  • Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS, or AUS
  • Manage key deliverables in line with service level agreements or equivalent standards
  • Calculate management fees, carried interest, distribution amounts, and perform waterfall calculations
  • Handle year-end audits and respond to auditor queries
  • Ensure compliance with client documentation and internal procedures
  • Investigate and respond to client queries promptly and professionally
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal processes and procedures
  • Support ad-hoc departmental projects as required
  • Remain up to date with relevant technical developments within the fund industry

Job Requirements:

  • Actively working towards a professional accounting qualification, ideally ACA or ACCA
  • Ability to prepare final accounts from source documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow tasks through to completion
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong presentation and motivational skills
  • Competent IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, or IFRS (training provided if required)
  • Understanding of private equity, property, or infrastructure funds is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Jersey fund structures and regulatory requirements is desirable
