Accounts Administrator / Bookkeeper

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Administrator / Bookkeeper to support their accounts manager with day-to-day financial operations. This office-based role offers flexibility, with 12–20 hours per week to start, and potential for additional hours. The successful candidate will handle a range of responsibilities including processing payments, reconciling statements, and supporting financial reporting activities. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a small, collaborative team and who can manage a varied workload with accuracy and professionalism.

Job Duties:

  • Support the accounts manager with general administrative and financial duties
  • Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts
  • Enter financial data into accounting software or databases and file supporting documents
  • Process supplier invoices using Dext/Xero
  • Reconcile insurer statements and arrange payments accordingly
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices
  • Investigate and resolve debtor positions in collaboration with colleagues
  • Liaise with external accountants when required
  • Plan, organise, and manage workload to support timely monthly financial reporting

Job Requirements:

  • Hold or be studying towards an accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping
  • High level of reliability and discretion when handling confidential information
  • Proactive and positive attitude with the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks
  • Knowledge of Dext and Xero is desirable but not essential
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • A team player with flexibility and a calm approach under pressure
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
