Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud

Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud to join them on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in Guernsey, Jersey or the Isle of Man, this role is focused on delivering and supporting cloud services, including infrastructure, backup, disaster recovery, networking, and security. This position is ideal for an IT professional with a strong background in virtualisation, data centre operations and networking, who thrives in a customer-focused environment and is committed to resolving technical issues effectively.

Job Duties:

  • Investigate technical issues for both customer support and internal systems, taking ownership to ensure root cause resolution
  • Resolve technical incidents without predefined procedures using troubleshooting skills and technical expertise
  • Provision, adjust and recover customer services in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Raise, manage and escalate third-party support cases appropriately based on severity
  • Contribute to ongoing service improvements by offering ideas and practical suggestions
  • Balance day-to-day operational duties with project commitments through effective time management
  • Comply with all relevant licence, data protection and health and safety requirements
  • Follow internal security procedures, including completing required awareness training and correctly reporting any security incidents

Job Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of IT infrastructure including hardware, operating systems, storage, virtualisation, networking and security devices
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and DNS
  • Familiarity with backup and replication technologies
  • Associate-level qualification such as CCNA, VCA, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Effective analytical and troubleshooting skills with initiative to resolve problems independently
  • High level of accuracy, strong organisational abilities and experience working in fast-paced environments
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a systems administration role, ideally in a service provider setting
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to contribute within a team
  • Knowledge of ITIL, ISO27001 and PCI-DSS standards
