Temporary Assistant Manager, Private Wealth - 12 months

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join their Private Wealth team in Jersey on a full-time, fixed-term contract for up to 12 months. This role requires managing a varied and complex portfolio of private wealth clients while supporting the Manager in overseeing a client administration team. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering excellent client service, drive operational excellence, and support team development and business growth initiatives. Occasional travel may be required to client or other group office locations.

Job Duties:

  • Administer a complex portfolio of trust and company structures
  • Support the Manager with day-to-day team management and leadership responsibilities
  • Assist with new business onboarding and ensure smooth processing
  • Oversee the team’s adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations
  • Review fee arrangements, identify uncommercial structures, and suggest improvements
  • Proactively contribute to achieving financial objectives, including fee recovery and debtor control
  • Support the development and implementation of risk management procedures
  • Mentor and train junior team members and encourage professional development
  • Participate in statutory and management meetings as required
  • Identify and support new business opportunities and contribute to business development
  • Assist in recruitment and development planning for direct reports
  • Maintain effective client relationships and handle client communication professionally
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal processes
  • Highlight potential risks or concerns and escalate when necessary
  • Deputise for the Manager as needed and promote group values in daily work

Job Requirements:

  • ICSA or STEP Diploma qualified, or other relevant professional qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in trust and company administration
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Knowledge of best practices in trust and corporate services
  • Proven ability to read and interpret trust and company legal documents
  • Excellent numeracy, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in industry-related applications
  • Commercial awareness and ability to manage workloads effectively
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior staff
  • Ability to adapt to change and remain calm under pressure
  • Awareness of international trust law and taxation impacts on structures
