Our client is seeking an IT Infrastructure Analyst to join their IT Operations team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role focuses on supporting, maintaining and optimising a combination of on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure to ensure stability, availability, and security of the systems that underpin business operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, a proactive mindset, and a problem-solving approach to managing critical systems and networks.
Job Duties:
- Monitor and maintain the availability and performance of servers, networks and storage systems
- Manage network infrastructure including routers, switches, DNS and VPN configurations
- Administer Windows and Linux servers, including Active Directory, DNS and DHCP
- Support server virtualisation using platforms such as VMware and Nutanix
- Implement and manage infrastructure monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
- Ensure efficient resource utilisation across infrastructure and optimise hardware and cloud services
- Deploy and manage infrastructure components within cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud)
- Support vulnerability management processes and tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS)
- Assist with security monitoring using SIEM tools such as Splunk or QRadar
- Apply OS patching, upgrades and hardening techniques across systems
- Manage endpoint protection and respond to incidents as required
- Troubleshoot and diagnose network, hardware and software issues
- Support backup and recovery solutions and apply appropriate backup strategies
- Maintain technical documentation and SOPs using tools such as Confluence or SharePoint
- Work with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Job Requirements:
- Appropriate technical certifications (e.g. Microsoft Azure Admin, CCNA) desirable
- Proven experience in network management and administration
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux server environments
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, virtualisation, and storage technologies (SAN/NAS)
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure, security and automation
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds, What’s Up Gold)
- Experience with endpoint and infrastructure security solutions
- Exposure to backup and recovery tools (e.g. Rubrik, Cloudian)
- Ability to manage and maintain infrastructure documentation
- Good understanding of database platforms such as SQL Server is an advantage
