Cloud Engineer

Our client, a leading provider in Fund Administration, Private Client, and Corporate Services headquartered in Guernsey, is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join their dynamic technology team. This pivotal role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure on the Microsoft Azure platform, significantly contributing to the digital transformation of the organisation. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with support, data, and security teams to ensure that our cloud-based systems are secure, scalable, and highly performant. This full-time position is critical for driving business value through innovative cloud computing solutions.

Job Duties:

  • Design and implement Azure cloud solutions, including virtual networks, storage, compute instances, and various Azure services.
  • Configure and manage Azure services such as Entra ID and Azure SQL Database.
  • Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of Azure resources.
  • Collaborate with the data team to optimize data storage, processing, and analytics solutions on Azure.
  • Implement and maintain cloud security best practices, including identity and access management and network security groups.
  • Leverage Microsoft Intune for modern device management, ensuring a secure and productive workforce.
  • Implement Windows Autopilot for streamlined device provisioning and onboarding.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure, services, Intune, and Autopilot.
  • Stay updated with the latest Azure technologies, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with senior technical team members and technology partners to resolve technical issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation and knowledge base articles for supported applications and technologies.
  • Complete any other duties as required in accordance with the evolving nature of the role and function.

Job Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • A Higher Education Certificate.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development; Azure Cloud qualifications are preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other scripting languages.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, etc.) and security principles.
  • Familiarity with data storage, processing, and analytics solutions on Azure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Flexible attitude towards working hours and team needs.
