Our client is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Director for their Private Clients division, a pivotal role within the organisation located in Guernsey. This permanent position requires a committed professional with extensive experience in fiduciary services, regulatory compliance, and leadership. The Director will provide strategic oversight on private client cases, ensuring alignment with client service agreements and local regulations. This role is not just about management; it's about being a key ambassador for the firm, enhancing its presence within the business community while aiding in the growth and success of the Private Clients team.
Job Duties:
- Ensure alignment of business goals and local strategy, effectively communicating these internally and externally.
- Lead the private clients business in Guernsey, contributing to the strategic success by meeting financial targets.
- Identify and develop growth opportunities, expanding the existing client base and fostering referrals across the group.
- Provide expert technical knowledge on complex cases and ensure that each client receives a high-quality, personalised service.
- Manage contentious client relationships, addressing fee disputes and concerns proactively.
- Stay abreast of industry developments to mitigate potential risks impacting clients and the Guernsey business.
- Make informed and independent decisions as a director of client entities, backed by relevant legal and tax advice.
- Assess higher than normal risk factors for client entities and collaborate with the compliance department as necessary.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to managers and staff, ensuring effective administration of client entities.
- Participate in recruitment, succession planning, and identify training needs to develop the Guernsey private clients team.
- Foster strong relationships within the team, demonstrating integrity and fostering open communication.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in regulated finance or professional services, with a recent senior leadership role.
- Exceptional leadership skills and management experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable business and market dynamics.
- Ability to cultivate a network of internal and external contacts effectively.
- Technical expertise in client structures and compliance requirements.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CGI, STEP, or equivalent is essential.
- Strong IT technical skills, with a drive for personal development and success.
