Our client is seeking a Risk Programme Manager to lead the design, implementation, and oversight of strategic risk initiatives. The role is based in Guernsey or Jersey and involves full-time hours of 37.5 per week (or less by agreement). This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that the organisation's risk posture remains robust, agile, and aligned with regulatory expectations and internal quality standards.
Job Duties:
- Lead and coordinate risk-related programmes, including risk assessments, regulatory compliance initiatives, and operational risk reviews.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align programme goals with strategic priorities and act as a liaison between Risk, Business Enablement, and Lines of Service teams.
- Coordinate the implementation of the organisation’s QMSE framework and ISQM1 standards to ensure consistent and effective risk responses across Business Enablement teams.
- Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders through dashboards, risk metrics, and programme status reports, ensuring documentation is audit-ready and compliant.
- Manage resources across multiple workstreams, including offshore support and subject matter experts, while facilitating onboarding and role clarity for new team members.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in risk management or compliance within a professional services or financial institution.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and operational risk controls.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to influence at senior levels.
- Strong organisational skills to meet strict deadlines, such as regulatory returns.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of work.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with critical self-review.
- Digital acumen and enthusiasm for challenges.
- Ability to document processes and maintain an audit trail from information sourcing to final reporting.
