Our client is seeking an Assistant AML Manager to provide AML support to their regulated fund clients. This role is integral to ensuring compliance with AML/CFT regulations within the financial services sector. The position is a full-time opportunity, offering a chance to work closely with the Head of Compliance and AML/CFT/PF Manager. The successful candidate will engage in various tasks related to client onboarding and regulatory compliance, contributing to the overall effectiveness of their AML/CFT programme. You will have the responsibility of managing AML processes and will work autonomously in many aspects of the role.
Job Duties:
- Manage client onboarding relationships effectively and autonomously, including due diligence on new and existing investors.
- Interpret complex structures to assist with AML Periodic Reviews.
- Execute background checks and searches/client profiling, carrying out ad-hoc risk screens and open-source searches as needed.
- Assess overnight screening hits and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Provide ongoing support and training to junior team members to aid their development.
- Offer guidance on applicable regulatory and AML issues and respond to business-related AML queries.
- Analyse the effectiveness and adequacy of AML solutions, identifying failures and recommending remedial actions.
- Assist with the maintenance and updates to AML Compliance and Risk Registers, including Politically Exposed Persons.
- Collate CDD statistics and prepare reports for Senior Management on AML matters.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in an AML role and a diploma-level professional Compliance Qualification.
- A genuine interest in compliance and a passion for AML matters.
- Strong background and understanding of financial services.
- Excellent administrative, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to take ownership of matters and work independently when required.
- An inquisitive mindset, capable of analysing issues and providing insights.
- A positive attitude and a preference for collaborative teamwork.
