Temporary IT Service Desk Analyst / Batch Operator - 6 months

Our client is seeking a temporary IT Service Desk Analyst / Batch Operator for a 6-month fixed-term contract within their IT Service department. The successful candidate will possess strong personal and communication skills, demonstrating a desire to improve processes and the technical acumen to implement enhancements. The role includes the daily resolution of support requests from users both locally on the Isle of Man and internationally, ensuring that the most critical systems are operational to support the growing business. Key responsibilities include providing first- and second-line Service Desk support, addressing incidents, and fulfilling service requests from users across seven countries, while liaising with technical teams and suppliers to ensure swift restoration of service. The role will also involve providing out-of-hours Batch Operator and other operational support on a rota basis. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be tasked with maintaining knowledge articles and policy documentation to the required standards, along with performing general IT duties such as equipment relocation and hardware upgrades. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is essential for this role.

Job Duties:

  • Provide first- and second-line Service Desk support, resolving incidents and fulfilling service requests from users across multiple countries.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and suppliers to promptly restore service.
  • Offer out-of-hours Batch Operator and operational support on a rota basis.
  • Maintain knowledge articles, policy, and procedure documentation to required standards.
  • Perform general IT duties, including equipment relocation, software installation, and hardware upgrades.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant Service/Help Desk experience or equivalent role.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude towards change, capable of working independently or within a team.
  • Customer Service experience through face-to-face interactions, remote support, and phone communications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and listening skills.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows on desktops and servers, Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, and both virtual and physical end-user desktop environments.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and modern Service Management toolsets.
  • A clean driving licence is necessary, as support will be required at two Isle of Man offices.
  • An ITIL Foundation qualification and experience in a Financial Services environment are advantageous.
