Senior Trust Accounting Administrator

Our client is seeking a Senior Trust Accounting Administrator responsible for maintaining the accounting records and assisting with the preparation of Trust and Company financial statements and management accounts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team within a reputable organisation. The successful candidate will play an essential role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while collaborating with various departments. The contract details include a full-time position with flexible working hours, allowing for a balanced approach to work and personal life. This position is pivotal in the financial reporting process and will involve working closely with auditors and team leaders. The role requires a strong candidate who is proactive, detail-oriented, and can thrive under pressure.

Job Duties:

  • Maintaining the general ledger and preparing management accounts.
  • Posting of cash and journals in the nominal ledgers.
  • Preparing loan interest calculations and reconciling bank and loan accounts.
  • Reconciliation of bank and other ledger balances.
  • Calculation and accrual of company expenses.
  • Assisting with the compilation of management accounts.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the annual financial statements.
  • Assisting in transferring trial balance information into the financial statements template.
  • Preparing trust and company accounts in accordance with applicable legislation as delegated by the Team Leader.
  • Preparing the associated working papers and evidencing balances to the financial statements.
  • Assisting with auditors’ queries.
  • Undertaking the annual review process of entities for which accounts have been prepared.
  • Liaising with other departments within the Group.
  • Available to assist in other duties as requested.

Job Requirements:

  • A Levels with accounting subjects and relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience.
  • Experience in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards is essential.
  • Training towards a recognised accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA or ICAEW.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel reporting.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of the preparation of financial statements.
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude and innovative team player.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines with moderate supervision.
