Temporary MS365 Business Analyst - 6 months

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the Colleague IT Phase 2 (M365 Enablement) initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining business requirements, ways of working, and governance needed to ensure that Microsoft 365, including Copilot and SharePoint Online, delivers measurable value across the organisation. This role is heavily focused on driving business change, defining the operating model, and enabling the organisation to adopt M365 safely, consistently, and effectively. The position is a contract role with a duration of six months. The successful applicant will engage with business champions, deliver structured input into governance and policy design, and ensure successful adoption of M365 tools. The ideal candidate will also facilitate training and collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure clarity in project backlogs.

Job Duties:

  • Define standardised business requirements and ways of working across Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, Planner, Loop, Forms, Bookings, Project, and Viva Engage.
  • Work with business champions to define business-led requirements, focusing on information ownership and accountability, especially concerning SharePoint Online.
  • Develop community and collaboration ownership models that enhance organisational effectiveness.
  • Ensure data quality and structure contributes to overall project requirements.
  • Identify and document business and organisational requirements necessary for the safe enablement of Copilot.
  • Provide clear, structured inputs into governance and policy design for M365 applications.
  • Define measurable benefits, outcomes, and success criteria for the adoption of M365 and Copilot.
  • Contribute to scope definition, risks, assumptions, and dependencies associated with M365 enablement.
  • Collaborate with third-party suppliers to drive timely project delivery.
  • Manage and build the project backlog, ensuring all requirements are clear and actionable.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within digital transformation or enterprise tooling programmes.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 applications and their business use cases.
  • Experience in defining business processes, governance, operating models, and requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, effectively working with business champions and senior leaders.
  • Ability to translate business needs into structured, clear documentation and backlogs.
  • Strong understanding of information management concepts, including ownership, structure, and data quality.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers and internal delivery teams within a project environment.
  • Nice to have: Experience with Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, and exposure to Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-enabled business tools.
