Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Trust Manager to join their Digital Assets Team. This permanent role involves managing the day-to-day administration and ensuring the delivery of excellent client service for a defined portfolio. The successful candidate will confidently address complex client needs while also supporting team management responsibilities as required. Although knowledge of digital assets is desirable, it is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided. This is a full-time role, and the candidate will be expected to maintain compliance with corporate governance requirements for legal entities and trusts. The Assistant Trust Manager will have the responsibility of monitoring team activities, professional development, and ensuring the continual adherence to the organisation's policies and procedures.
Job Duties:
- Assist the manager with beneficial owner filings and statutory document updates, maintaining awareness of differing jurisdictional requirements.
- Ensure accounts are reviewed and approved within internal and external timeframes, while filing requirements are met.
- Monitor progress of the accounts process and liaise with the accounting team.
- Oversee the appropriateness of team banking relationships, associated fees, and assist the manager in building and maintaining those relationships.
- Review bank account opening documentation, access arrangements, and mandates.
- Anticipate clients’ future needs and initiate appropriate actions.
- Monitor team correspondence with clients and intermediaries, organising meetings and attending networking events.
- Review investment policy statements and liaise with the Investment Review Committee as needed.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and all necessary filings.
- Assist in monitoring team compliance with policies, procedures, and identify opportunities for further training.
- Liaise with the tax team regarding tax implications and disseminate necessary advice within the team.
- Review timesheets and financial targets, taking proactive action as necessary.
- Monitor projects and notify the manager/director and clients of budget deviations.
- Assist with the preparation of information for quarterly board meetings and assume authorised signatory responsibilities.
Job Requirements:
- Technical knowledge and demonstrated ability within the trust arena, including tax and corporate governance.
- Successful attainment of STEP or CGI, or equivalent qualifications, alongside meeting CPD requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling engagement with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to produce and review moderately complex documentation with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated critical analysis skills to assess existing processes and devise improvements.
- Capacity to work towards deadlines and project plans with minimal direction.
- Ability to select appropriate solutions for various situations, considering their impact on the business.
- Management skills showcasing an ability to inspire and develop others, with personal integrity and tact.
