Temporary Operational Permanent Controller - 6 months

Our client is seeking a Temporary Operational Permanent Controller for a six-month contract to join their Operational Permanent Controls team. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the management of operational risks and permanent controls within the organisation. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Operational Permanent Controls and will be responsible for managing various operational risk initiatives in collaboration with control functions. Key duties will include the assessment of operational risks, implementation of remediation plans, and support for local procedures related to risk management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail and have a proactive approach to problem-solving. Additionally, they will engage with stakeholders to ensure compliance with procedural frameworks and promote awareness of operational risks across the organisation. This role offers an opportunity to enhance regulatory skills and contribute to the effective management of non-financial risks.

Job Duties:

  • Identify and assess operational risks through self-assessment (RCSA).
  • Ensure evaluation of material risks and their mitigants locally, reporting justifications for non-assessed risks as necessary.
  • Collaborate with various departments to document and analyse operational risks related to their activities.
  • Define remediation plans and monitor their implementation.
  • Assist with the effective implementation of RCSA within 360 RiskOp.
  • Ensure adherence to Group procedures while adapting them to meet local specificities.
  • Manage and monitor the inventory of operational procedures and ensure timely reviews.
  • Participate in the definition and regular update of Local Control Plans (LCPs).
  • Perform, analyse, and rationalise control plans alongside local process owners.
  • Contribute to the monitoring of incidents and the implementation of necessary action plans.
  • Organise training sessions on operational risks and the permanent control framework for staff.

Job Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Operational Risk procedures and governance.

  • Strong time management capabilities, able to handle multiple assignments.
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills.
  • A strong sense of personal integrity and ethics.
