Reporting to the Head of Business Solutions, the Senior Business Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and governing data platforms and analytics ecosystems. This strategic yet hands-on position requires a blend of exceptional technical skills and effective stakeholder engagement, focusing on automation, process optimisation, and the overall digital transformation strategy of the group. As the technical advisor for data solutions, the postholder will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and drive quality outcomes.
Job Duties:
- Lead the design, architecture, and continued evolution of the Group’s core data platforms, establishing architectural standards, frameworks, and principles.
- Collaborate with InfoSec, IT, and Compliance to ensure data platform solutions meet Group policies and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a senior technical advisor for data solutions, overseeing delivery and deployment to ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory obligations.
- Engage with business users to identify and document requirements, translating them into technical specifications and solution architectures.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate manual efforts and legacy systems, and design solutions using the Microsoft toolset for automation and advanced data analytics.
- Lead or contribute to solutions leveraging AI and automation-driven features.
- Promote best practices and contribute to training resources and documentation to facilitate user adoption and upskilling.
- Lead architectural engagement work with third parties and delivery partners as necessary.
- Stay current with the Microsoft roadmap to identify opportunities for enhancing business capabilities.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in solution development, system engineering, or business process improvement.
- Demonstrable experience in building and deploying modern data platform architectures (Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Power Platform, Power BI, and M365, along with integration capabilities.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications or professional qualifications are desirable.
- Experience in managing successful projects in a multi-disciplinary setting.
- Familiarity with data modelling, permissions management, and governance in Microsoft environments is preferable.
- Proven problem-solving, research, and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities and proficiency in maintaining technical documentation.
- Effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels and produce clear documentation.
- Proficiency in digital platforms to enhance project workflows and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Willingness to collaborate within a team and support shared goals.
- Openness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving business requirements.
