Assistant Trust Manager

Our client is seeking an Assistant Trust Manager to join their Trust Services department in Guernsey. This role involves providing day-to-day support and oversight for the trust team while maintaining a strong focus on client service and relationship management. The successful candidate will act as a liaison with team members on daily operations, facilitating staff development through effective training and performance feedback. Responsibilities will include assisting with the management of workflows alongside senior directors and managers, as well as ensuring the administration of a diverse portfolio of fiduciary entities is conducted efficiently. The position offers the opportunity to engage with complex services for clients, all while adhering to regulatory changes and ensuring the team stays informed. An ideal candidate will possess management-level experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Job Duties:

  • Support the day-to-day management of the trust team
  • Liaise with team members regarding daily operational activities
  • Ensure high levels of client service and effective relationship management
  • Assist in the organisation of workflows in collaboration with senior management
  • Facilitate the administration of a diverse portfolio of fiduciary entities
  • Engage in the delivery of complex services while identifying and mitigating risks
  • Act as a contact point for a portfolio of clients, where necessary
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and ensure team compliance
  • Encourage staff development through ongoing guidance and training
  • Participate in team meetings to disseminate relevant information and updates
  • Provide support for team portfolios during absences

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant experience at a management level with strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of and experience in managing trust structures
  • Qualification in STEP, CGI, or a similar professional qualification, or actively pursuing one
  • Proactive, independent work style with initiative
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and support staff training and development
  • Adept at meeting deadlines and achieving set KPIs
  • Exemplification of the organisation’s brand values and personal integrity
