Our client is seeking a temporary Senior Accounting Manager to join their team for a period of six months. This full-time position is crucial for leading the accounting team, providing training, guidance and support to team members, while delivering accounting and financial reporting services to a portfolio of clients. The successful candidate will oversee the preparation of periodic financial reports in accordance with relevant accounting and industry standards, ensuring that the team meets all deliverables effectively. This role will involve liaising with clients and auditors as necessary, playing a key part in maintaining high standards of service and compliance.
Job Duties:
- Lead the accounting service line, ensuring effective operations.
- Provide training, guidance and support to team members, including those based in other locations.
- Manage the workflow of the team to meet accounting reporting requirements.
- Offer quality technical guidance to clients and take ownership of client deliverables.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with recognised GAAP and relevant reporting requirements.
- Supervise the production of periodic management accounts and management reports from trial balances.
- Monitor key KPIs of the team, reporting variances between workloads and agreed budgets.
- Support the automation of client solutions and provide advice on accounting and bookkeeping matters.
- Assist directors with client meetings, new business pitches, and proposals.
- Support the audit process to meet milestones and deadlines.
- Maintain and develop knowledge in private equity and real estate accounting matters.
- Understand and comply with relevant jurisdictional laws and anti-money laundering regulations.
- Carry out all duties in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Relevant accounting qualification – ACA, ACCA or equivalent, along with proven relevant experience.
- Experience with IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Strong supervisory experience, guiding and coaching staff members.
- In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in providing guidance on accounting matters to junior team members.
- Comfort with technology and ability to adapt to bespoke systems.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage high-pressure situations.
- Strong motivational skills to inspire and influence direct reports.
- Flexible attitude towards working hours and team collaboration.
