Business Applications Developer

This role involves designing, configuring, developing, and enhancing business application solutions that support compliance processes and operational services. The position focuses on improving business efficiency, usability, and governance across core platforms. It demands an approach that aligns with development standards and assures that all changes remain supported and controlled. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in modernising workflows and enhancing process-driven services. Additionally, they will contribute to a key developmental phase of the organisation, helping to solidify its status as a prominent international finance centre. This is a hybrid position located in St Helier, Jersey.

Job Duties:

  • Actively deliver business application changes and enhancements in line with agreed requirements, governance, and service expectations.
  • Implement application-led workflows, forms, rules, and related functionalities to improve process consistency, efficiency, and user experience.
  • Ensure business application solutions are developed and maintained with appropriate documentation, testing, and support readiness.
  • Evolve internal capability by strengthening application platforms and workflow-led services over time.
  • Reduce dependency on ad hoc or poorly controlled changes through better engineering discipline and clearer ownership.
  • Support the wider business outcomes through application change without creating unnecessary technical debt or support risk.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience developing, configuring, or enhancing enterprise business applications and workflow-led services.
  • Strong understanding of how application change should support business processes, controls, and user experience.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, support teams, suppliers, and technical colleagues.
  • Good analytical capability with a practical approach to solution design, testing, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with controlled change, governance, and service transition expectations in an enterprise environment.
  • Breadth and adaptability beyond a mindset tied strictly to one product label or platform.
