Contract Product Marketing Executive - 12 months

This role is a temporary contract for a duration of 12 months, reporting to the Head of Product Marketing. The successful individual will be an essential member of the product marketing team, responsible for assisting in the implementation of product strategy and range management across various brands. The position focuses on product excellence and innovation, which are pivotal for attracting and retaining customers. Tasks will involve working on the development of both new and existing products, enhancing benefits across categories such as sport, beauty, and pets. The candidate will facilitate product development from customer insights through to formula creation, packaging design, and marketing communications. Ensuring the products remain commercially viable while appealing to diverse customer types is crucial. The ideal individual will be dynamic, enthusiastic, and possess a strong passion for marketing and wellbeing, along with a desire for continuous learning and growth.

Job Duties:

  • Utilise available data to monitor and report on product and category performance.
  • Develop an understanding of key products and important categories to guide and focus the activities of commercial teams.
  • Identify underperforming products and suggest improvements to maximise trending categories.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities across multiple channels for up-selling and cross-selling within the product range.
  • Optimise product range size and structure, ensuring relevance and appeal.
  • Participate in ongoing range reviews to assist in rationalising the product offerings.
  • Establish Good/Better/Best propositions across key categories to enhance customer understanding.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to maintain competitive formulations and pricing.
  • Propose and manage new product development opportunities, guiding the process with market research and customer insight.
  • Assist in briefing internal teams and creating NPD Launch briefs for stakeholder circulation.
  • Maintain up-to-date product information and ensure effective communication of changes.
  • Ensure clear and consistent product positioning across all communications.
  • Collaborate with digital marketing to enhance product categorisation and merchandising.
  • Aid in delivering training on new products and improved formulations to wider teams.
  • Assist in developing compelling pricing strategies for new and existing products.
  • Track market movements and perform regular competitor pricing comparisons.
  • Collaborate on sustainable packaging solutions and assist with artwork briefs for product packaging design.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent academic record (minimum A level standard).
  • Passion for marketing.
  • Highly numerate with strong organisational skills.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Attention to detail and ability to plan effectively.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and conscientious.
  • Ambitious and hard-working.
  • Degree in business/marketing or interest in nutrition/consumer healthcare is desirable.
