Pensions Administrator

This role is a full-time position with flexibility on hours (no less than 25 hours per week), available immediately at the Guernsey Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the team with the administration of both local and international pension schemes. Job duties include the maintenance of membership records, processing payments of pensions and other benefits or expenses through online banking systems, and calculating members’ benefits. Additionally, the role involves performing bank and other reconciliations, liaising with employers, banks, and investment managers, and occasional communication with pension scheme members. The administrator will also manage the investment of pension scheme contributions and the liquidation of assets, while addressing any pension-related queries from adhering employers via telephone and email. The position requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills.

Job Duties:

  • Maintenance of membership records
  • Payment of pensions and other benefits/expenses using online banking systems
  • Calculation of member’s benefits
  • Bank and other reconciliation
  • Liaison with employers, banks, and investment managers
  • Occasional liaison with pension scheme members
  • Investment of pension scheme contributions and liquidation of assets
  • Handling pension-related queries from adhering employers (by telephone and email)

Job Requirements:

  • Experience as an administrator in a pension/fund/trust or banking business is preferred but not essential
  • English and Maths at Grade C is essential
  • Higher qualifications are desirable
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
