Finance Planning Manager, Enterprise

This role is focused on the proactive management and detailed oversight of financial planning, analysis, and control within the Enterprise portfolio. The Finance Planning Manager will work full-time, amounting to 37.5 hours per week. The position involves leading financial evaluations and insights to support commercial decision-making, safeguarding contract profitability, and delivering comprehensive commercial support across the Enterprise profit and loss. The successful candidate will partner closely with Enterprise commercial, sales, and product teams to ensure robust financial analysis is provided across revenues, margins, and costs. Furthermore, the role encompasses leading month-end accounting processes and engaging in cross-functional analysis to surface opportunities for improvement. The candidate must demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to analyse financial information effectively, providing valuable insights to non-financial stakeholders. This position also requires compliance with relevant regulatory rules and policies, ensuring a high standard of governance and audit readiness.

Job Duties:

  • Act as the finance lead for the Enterprise portfolio, partnering with commercial and product leaders to grow revenue and protect margin.
  • Own the Enterprise revenue, margin, and cost budgets, forecasts, and phasing; challenge assumptions and recommend trade-offs.
  • Lead financial evaluations of major Enterprise bids and tenders, building comprehensive business cases.
  • Safeguard contract profitability by running through-life reviews and holding owners accountable with recovery plans.
  • Oversee month-end accounting processes, ensuring ledger integrity and timely financial closing.
  • Manage designated Enterprise cost lines, delivering accurate month-end processes and rolling forecasts.
  • Conduct cross-functional spend and margin reviews, producing insights on cost optimisation opportunities.
  • Act as a proactive finance business partner, challenging constructively and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Deliver timely and accurate submissions to the Group, maintaining strong financial governance across revenue and cost cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, Data Protection Law, and Health and Safety responsibilities relevant to the role.

Job Requirements:

  • A professional accounting qualification and membership of a recognised professional accounting body, or working towards an accounting qualification with significant hands-on experience.
  • High-level skills in Excel, systems, and IT, including basic knowledge of AI tools.
  • Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to analyse situations effectively and provide proactive solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret, and present financial information to non-financial individuals.
  • Energy and enthusiasm, with strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
