Finance Planning Manager, Enterprise

This position seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the financial planning, analysis, and control of the Enterprise portfolio across various jurisdictions, including Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man. The successful individual will play a crucial role in supporting commercial decision-making by delivering high-quality financial analysis and insights related to Enterprise revenue, margin, and cost. Responsibilities include collaborating with the Enterprise commercial, sales, and product teams to safeguard contract profitability while providing insightful commercial support across the full Enterprise profit and loss statement. The Finance Manager will be expected to lead the financial evaluation of significant bids and tenders, ensuring robust and risk-adjusted business cases are developed. Additional duties include managing month-end accounting processes, overseeing accounting integrity, and leading cross-functional cost reviews. The role also requires effective business partnering and communication with senior stakeholders, alongside maintaining strong financial governance and audit readiness.

Job Duties:

  • Act as the finance lead for the Enterprise portfolio, partnering with commercial and product leaders to drive revenue and protect margin.
  • Own the management of Enterprise revenue, margin, and cost budgets, forecasts, and phasing; challenge assumptions and conduct scenario analyses.
  • Lead the financial evaluation of major Enterprise bids, tenders, and renewals, ensuring clear pricing and benefit ownership.
  • Safeguard contract profitability by conducting through-life reviews of major deals and enforcing necessary recovery plans.
  • Manage month-end accounting processes, including revenue recognition and cost of sales, ensuring ledger integrity.
  • Take ownership of designated Enterprise cost lines, delivering accurate month-end reporting and forecasts.
  • Conduct cross-functional spend and margin reviews, highlighting optimisation opportunities.
  • Partner with Procurement and Wholesale to support supplier negotiations and quantify savings.
  • Generate ad hoc reporting and dashboards to support revenue and margin analysis.
  • Maintain clear variance analysis and facilitate scenario modelling to support prioritisation.
  • Act as a proactive finance business partner to senior leaders, enhancing operational efficiency and influencing decision-making.
  • Lead monthly performance reviews, tracking the delivery of revenue growth and margin improvement.
  • Deliver timely submissions to the Group with variance commentary and insights.
  • Maintain strict financial governance across revenue and cost cycles, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Own relevant documentation and records for audit readiness.
  • Undertake various project-based tasks as assigned by the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis.

Job Requirements:

  • A professional accounting qualification, with membership in a recognised accounting body or significant hands-on accounting experience.
  • High proficiency in Excel and IT systems, including basic knowledge of AI tools.
  • Strong project and time management skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrable capacity to analyse situations and provide proactive solutions.
  • Ability to interpret and present financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
  • Excellent leadership qualities, with a passion for technology and learning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
