The role of AI Project Manager is crucial for leading and delivering AI-related projects across the organisation. This position involves ensuring that AI technology, data, and business change initiatives are planned, governed, and implemented effectively. The AI Project Manager will work in collaboration with teams across business operations, technology, risk, legal, compliance, and vendor management. Responsibilities include translating AI opportunities into clear delivery plans, managing implementations from initiation to handover, and supporting the adoption of new methodologies. The role emphasises responsible delivery of AI initiatives with a focus on appropriate governance, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with business objectives and regulatory expectations. Job Duties:
- Lead AI-related projects from initiation through to implementation, deployment, and handover, applying established project management frameworks.
- Translate business problems and opportunities into clear project objectives, business cases, and delivery plans.
- Develop and maintain integrated plans, covering milestones, dependencies, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate end-to-end delivery across various stakeholders, ensuring prompt decision-making and momentum across AI projects.
- Manage AI technology delivery activities, including requirements definition, data readiness, and solution design coordination.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to understand AI solution components, while recognising technical ownership lies with relevant specialists.
- Support rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure business requirements are met prior to release.
- Lead AI-enabled business changes, assessing impacts on processes and roles, while embedding stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive benefit realisation by defining baseline measures and tracking outcomes for sustainable value.
- Establish strong governance for AI initiatives, managing risks and dependencies appropriately.
- Facilitate workshops and decision forums, ensuring clear communication of actions and outcomes.
- Prepare high-quality reports for sponsors and committees, detailing progress, risks, and delivery confidence.
- Contribute to the development of AI delivery and change management approaches by identifying lessons learned.
- Provide guidance and coaching to colleagues to enhance their capabilities in delivering AI-related changes.
Job Requirements:
- At least 3 years' experience as a project manager or equivalent, with a track record of delivering technology and business change initiatives.
- Proven understanding of project management techniques and the ability to apply these in iterative environments.
- Experience in delivering AI, data, analytics, automation, or digital transformation projects.
- Excellent knowledge of change management principles and supporting the adoption of new technologies.
- Strong understanding of AI concepts and delivery considerations, including machine learning and data pipelines.
- Proficient in coordinating change impact assessments and stakeholder engagement for complex business changes.
- Experience in working with cross-functional stakeholders, including business leaders and compliance teams.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen focus on financial control.
- Exceptional stakeholder management abilities, including influencing senior stakeholders.
