Senior Trust Officer

This role involves managing a key family office client relationship from the Guernsey office, providing an excellent opportunity for a driven individual who excels in client service. The Senior Trust Officer will take on direct administrative responsibility for a portfolio encompassing trusts, companies, and other wealth structures. The primary goal is to ensure first-class service and to identify and manage risks effectively within their span of control. Additionally, this role will involve supporting junior team members and assisting with the onboarding of new client structures. The successful candidate will prepare regulatory and tax returns, review annual financial statements, and undertake customer due diligence reviews while maintaining excellent business relationships with clients and third parties. This role is essential in delivering high-quality service, identifying client needs, and seeking new business opportunities as appropriate.

Job Duties:

  • Provide excellent client service administration.
  • Support more junior team members.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new client structures as necessary.
  • Prepare regulatory and tax returns.
  • Review annual financial statements for client structures.
  • Undertake customer due diligence reviews and conduct risk assessments.
  • Maintain strong business relationships with clients, intermediaries, and third parties to ensure longevity.
  • Achieve personal targets for time recording, utilisation, and working capital management.
  • Support the team in controlling work in progress (WIP), ensuring prompt fee collection and highlighting revenue opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative culture aligned with organisational values.
  • Participate in regular performance reviews and act on feedback for improvement.
  • Identify personal development priorities each year and complete all mandatory training on time.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with High-Net-Worth clients and complex fiduciary structures.
  • Proven track record in delivering first-class client service.
  • Demonstrated technical competency in managing complex transactions.
  • Sound knowledge of current issues affecting fiduciary structures.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is desirable.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (such as STEP or ICSA) and A-Level education, or equivalent.
  • Commitment to maintaining Continuous Professional Development (CPD) hours.
