Our client is seeking a Head of Data to lead their core data capabilities, including data architecture, integrations, analytics, and reporting across various jurisdictions. This permanent, full-time position will ensure that data is treated as a strategic asset—reliable, well-governed, and accessible. You will report to the Group CTO and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a data strategy that aligns with the organisation's growth and technology roadmap.
JOB DUTIES:
- Own and maintain the core data architecture, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and aligned with business and technology strategies.
- Define and govern data models, artefacts, and standards across the organisation.
- Manage the data warehouse and data lake architecture, overseeing design, build, and ongoing management.
- Identify emerging data trends and technologies that could enhance business value.
- Develop and maintain a balanced data roadmap reflecting strategic priorities and operational needs.
- Oversee all data interfaces and integrations between business applications and data platforms.
- Collaborate with the Business Applications team to define integration requirements.
- Ensure data products and reporting capabilities deliver accurate, timely insights to the business.
- Manage key data lifecycle processes, including ingestion, transformation, and retention.
- Establish data quality standards and governance practices across the organisation.
- Serve as the primary IT contact for stakeholders regarding data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Contribute to the Group's AI strategy, ensuring data architecture supports AI initiatives in compliance with regulations.
- Champion a data-driven culture within the organisation and define a data literacy programme.
- Manage and develop a team of data engineers and data analysts, fostering a collaborative team culture.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Significant experience in data architecture, engineering, or analytics leadership, preferably in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
- Proven ability to manage enterprise data platforms, including data warehouses and lakes.
- Strong technical skills in data modelling, ETL/integration, and reporting tools such as Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
- Understanding of data governance and quality standards, with knowledge of relevant data protection legislation.
- Experience in shaping AI strategy and an understanding of data governance and model risk associated with responsible AI adoption.
- Strong stakeholder management skills to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Experience in building and leading data teams, particularly in dynamic environments.
- Background in financial services or other regulated industries is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on promoting data literacy across diverse teams.
