Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Finance Manager to join their team in Guernsey. This permanent, full-time position offers an opportunity to play a key role in delivering client service excellence. You will be responsible for supervising the monthly and quarterly reporting across specific jurisdictions of the Trust Group, assisting with preparation of the consolidated position, managing and supervising the preparation of financial statements, and coordinating the annual audit and budget processes across each allocated jurisdiction.
JOB DUTIES:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packs and annual budget for each offshore jurisdiction.
- Review general ledger postings made by colleagues across offshore jurisdictions.
- Review VAT returns prepared by external accountants.
- Ensure cross-border services are accurately invoiced and recorded.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with applicable auditors across the offshore jurisdictions.
- Identify and implement work review processes and procedures where deficiencies have been identified and assist with recommendations for enhancing finance-related software to improve quality and efficiency of financial information.
- Manage and prepare monthly cash flows for each offshore jurisdiction for a minimum of 18 months in advance.
- Maintain salary postings to each offshore jurisdiction, ensuring that a monthly reconciliation is completed and agreed.
- Assist with debt collection and credit control across the offshore jurisdictions, ensuring outstanding debts are followed up in line with the debt collection procedure.
- Ensure that monthly bank and intercompany reconciliations are completed by the team and checked and signed off.
- Deputise for the Finance Manager to ensure seamless delivery of tasks in their absence.
- Ensure team members are aware of their responsibilities and understand deadlines and due dates for their work, considering potential issues.
- Undertake PAD reviews twice yearly and set objectives and development programmes for relevant team members.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Sound technical knowledge and demonstrated accounting ability with successful attainment of ACA/ACCA or equivalent, meeting CPD requirements.
- Experience in accounting for cross-border services subject to transfer pricing regulations.
- Very good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to converse effectively with a diverse range of people and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Ability to produce and/or review various documentation of a moderately complex nature with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated critical analysis skills to review processes and procedures, with a capacity to formulate ideas and concepts.
- Proven capability to work to deadlines and project plans with minimal direction to achieve objectives.
- Ability to select appropriate solutions while adopting a commercial approach, considering the impact on the business and client services.
- Management skills that demonstrate the ability to understand, inspire, and develop others, alongside personal qualities of integrity, discretion, and tact.
