Our client is seeking a Senior Trust Officer to take direct administrative responsibility for a complex portfolio of trusts, companies, and other wealth structures. The role aims to provide platinum-class service to clients and intermediaries while ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations. This position is full-time and permanent, located in Jersey.
JOB DUTIES:
- Attend to clients’ needs in a timely and professional manner, maintaining knowledge and control over assets and activities of entities administered.
- Take responsibility for the administration of a varied portfolio of trusts, companies, foundations, or other entities, ensuring data is maintained, up to date, and relevant.
- Act as a primary point of contact for designated clients and intermediaries, building trusted, long-term relationships.
- Proactively identify client needs, risks, and opportunities, escalating matters to management when appropriate.
- Ensure client matters are handled in line with agreed service levels, fee arrangements, and relevant internal policies.
- Manage complex or sensitive client matters with discretion and sound judgment, escalating as necessary.
- Exercise delegated fiduciary responsibilities in accordance with relevant documentation and policies.
- Review trust and company documentation to ensure structures remain compliant.
- Assist with implementing restructuring, closures, distributions, and onboarding of new structures.
- Maintain oversight of underlying assets, including bank accounts, investments, and property.
- Prepare complex minutes, resolutions, and other documentation for management review.
- Provide support and supervision to other team members, delegating tasks where appropriate.
- Attend client meetings and prepare all necessary documentation.
- Prepare relevant documentation for changes in client circumstances.
- Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records in liaison with accountants.
- Conduct and review periodic client risk assessments.
- Observe and reinforce internal control policies and procedures.
- Work with other departments to facilitate service delivery to clients.
- Contribute to the financial performance of the team through efficient time management.
- Raise client bills and manage debt collection as per policies and procedures.
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior team members.
- Introduce and develop relationships with intermediaries to expand corporate networking.
- Assist management with new business opportunities and participate in other assigned projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of five years of experience in the trust services industry or a similar regulated business.
- Experience in trust and company administration.
- Awareness of local trust and company legislation and practices, including anti-money laundering laws.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage team members effectively.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Competency in Microsoft packages; training for other in-house software will be provided.
- Ability to act in accordance with the client's values, behaviours, and service charter.
- Hold the CGI/STEP diploma; support for further recognised trust qualifications is provided.
