Our client is seeking a Financial Controller on a fixed term contract basis for 6 months to join their team in Jersey. The successful candidate will manage a team and support the finance function of the organisation and its associated businesses. This role plays a critical part in preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and overseeing various financial processes.
JOB DUTIES:
- Prepare annual financial statements for all entities within the group and liaise with auditors as necessary.
- Manage the preparation of tax computations in collaboration with tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions, including Jersey, Guernsey, London, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
- Oversee client monies policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local reporting requirements.
- Maintain responsibility for bank and balance sheet reconciliations, working with jurisdictional finance teams as required.
- Ensure the integrity of ledgers, including managing the month-end close process.
- Handle other statutory reporting, including VAT, GST, and other tax returns.
- Review and process payroll payments, collaborating with the in-house payroll team on queries.
- Act as one of the authorised signatories for payments.
- Participate in or lead system, operational, or process changes as necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accountant with post-qualification experience.
- Experience in tax reporting, including tax computation preparation and analysis of GST and VAT.
- Strong leadership, management, and influencing skills.
- Ability to build robust relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Goal and achievement-oriented, with a willingness to embrace and champion change.
- Proficiency in relevant financial systems and reporting tools.
