Performance Marketing Manager

Ref: 38224

Our client is seeking a Performance Marketing Manager to take charge of performance and continuous optimisation of its paid and owned digital marketing channels across Guernsey, Jersey or the Isle of Man. This role is pivotal in transforming marketing investments into measurable customer engagement and commercial outcomes. The position allows for a combination of hands-on media management, website optimisation, and data-led experimentation within a full-time contract of 37.5 hours per week. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in building an in-house performance capability as the organisation transitions towards a more AI-enabled marketing model. You will progressively manage campaign setup, optimisation, analysis, and reporting, while also utilising agencies when necessary. Collaboration is a key aspect of this role as you work closely with various internal teams, including Creative, Commercial, and Product/Technology.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Own and execute the performance marketing plan across paid search, paid social, and display/programmatic digital channels in alignment with marketing priorities.
  • Manage campaign setup, targeting, budgets, bidding, conversion tracking, optimisation, and performance reporting directly in relevant platforms, bringing suitable activities in-house progressively.
  • Optimise marketing investments based on defined commercial measures such as cost per acquisition, conversion rate, and return on ad spend.
  • Utilise performance data to swiftly reallocate spend and audiences with a test-and-learn approach rather than fixed campaign plans.
  • Oversee the commercial performance and optimisation of consumer websites and digital journeys, ensuring effective content and calls to action.
  • Lead conversion-rate optimisation across digital funnels and landing pages using structured experimentation and A/B testing.
  • Collaborate with the CX Manager to integrate Voice of Customer insights into digital improvements while retaining accountability for digital funnel performance.
  • Partner with the CVM Lead and Commercial Managers to activate propositions and lifecycle priorities through digital channels.
  • Work with the Creative Manager to define asset, copy, and landing-page requirements for maximising campaign performance.
  • Establish automated reporting and dashboards for campaign performance, ensuring decisions are based on consistent data.
  • Analyse journey performance to identify underperformance and opportunities for measurable improvements.
  • Manage SEO strategies and reporting activities to enhance organic visibility and search performance.
  • Develop approaches combining Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) alongside conventional SEO.
  • Utilise AI tools to enhance research, analysis, and content optimisation processes, ensuring proper review and governance are in place.
  • Manage digital agency and specialist partner relationships effectively, including performance reviews and quality assessments.
  • Work with Product/Technology teams to test and optimise technical website and tracking changes.
  • Support online shop effectiveness, including product launches and digital journeys.
  • Monitor changes in digital advertising and AI and translate relevant developments into actionable strategies.
  • Maintain compliance with brand standards, legal requirements, and data protection regulations across digital activities.
  • Collaborate with security teams to manage assets and identify weaknesses, ensuring appropriate measures are implemented.
  • Understand and comply with relevant regulations, including Data Protection Law and Health and Safety responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong hands-on experience in managing and optimising paid digital campaigns across platforms like Google Ads and Meta.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage marketing budgets against performance measures such as CPA, conversion rates, and ROAS.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on translating data into actionable performance improvements.
  • Experience optimising website content and digital customer journeys, with a solid understanding of conversion-rate optimisation.
  • Familiarity with web analytics and reporting tools like Google Analytics and Tag Manager.
  • Solid grasp of SEO principles affecting organic performance.
  • Confidence in using AI tools for optimising digital marketing workflows.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to link channel activity to customer acquisition and revenue.
  • Experience managing relationships with agencies and performance partners.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to thrive in collaborative environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience bringing agency activities in-house and understanding digital self-service journeys is desirable.
  • Familiarity with CRM/CDP or marketing automation platforms is beneficial.
