Our client is seeking a temporary Finance Manager or Associate Director to join their team for a three-month fixed-term contract, starting around mid-September. This role is essential in supporting the Finance team through the upcoming budget process. You will engage in hands-on budget tasks, assisting the team in areas where there are pressure points. The ideal candidate will possess advanced Excel skills, as the role involves considerable spreadsheet work, and have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members across various departments. There is potential for the contract to extend by an additional month depending on the progress of the budget preparation timeline.
JOB DUTIES:
- Collaborate with support teams on cost budgets for Operations, Marketing, People, and Legal.
- Assist the Cost Management team in preparing cost budget templates.
- Aid the Finance Operations team in drafting revenue budgets.
- Work closely with individual business units to ensure consistency in the revenue budget process.
- Consolidate administrative cost budgets submitted by local finance teams into Group sheets and prepare variance analysis against the FY26 outturn.
- Develop the Excel budget model for the new financial year, including 25 profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, as well as the group consolidation sheet.
- Partner with local Finance Controllers on the monthly phasing of budgets.
- Focus solely on the budget, taking ownership of tasks that require additional support to keep the process on track.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience at the Manager or Associate Director level within a finance function is essential.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required due to extensive spreadsheet work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and engage with diverse team members.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines during budget preparation.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organisational skills to manage multiple budgetary tasks.
- Prior experience in budget preparation and financial analysis is preferred.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and task management is crucial.
