IT Project Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven IT Project Manager to join their Technology team in either Jersey or Guernsey. This permanent, full-time role reports to the Senior Manager - Engineering and is pivotal in planning, executing, and delivering a diverse portfolio of technology and business change projects. You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a confident project leader capable of navigating complex business challenges, fostering collaboration across teams, and forging strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. JOB DUTIES:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technology and business change projects, aligning with strategic objectives.
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, and deliverables based on project size and complexity.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, managing expectations and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Chair and facilitate project governance meetings, workshops, and committee discussions to encourage productive engagement and clear decision-making.
  • Coordinate resources, manage workloads, and optimise team productivity across multiple workstreams.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing appropriate mitigation strategies and driving timely resolutions.
  • Support the development of business cases and monitor project budgets to ensure effective cost management and value delivery.
  • Manage project change requests, ensuring that scope changes are appropriately assessed and communicated.
  • Maintain end-to-end quality assurance across project documentation, deliverables, benefits realisation, and governance.
  • Ensure operational readiness by supporting implementation planning, business change impact assessments, and transition into business-as-usual activities.
  • Deliver accurate and timely project reporting in compliance with established project management standards and governance frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and applying best practices across future initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hold a recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering technology projects and organisational change or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of project governance frameworks and structured delivery methodologies.
  • Proven ability to work in complex, matrix-managed environments.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and achieving successful outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading governance forums, steering committees, and stakeholder workshops.
  • In-depth knowledge of project lifecycle management, risk management, budgeting, and change control processes.
  • Excellent project planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities, with effective facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Possess commercial awareness and financial management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
