IT Project Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven IT Project Manager to join their Technology team in either Guernsey or Jersey. This permanent, full-time position involves planning, executing, and delivering a diverse portfolio of technology and business change projects, ensuring all outcomes are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager - Engineering, you will be pivotal in driving collaboration across teams and ensuring successful project delivery from initiation to operational handover. You will be responsible for defining project scopes, objectives, and timelines, while working effectively in ambiguous environments and building strong stakeholder relationships at all levels. JOB DUTIES:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technology and business change projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, and deliverables appropriate to project size and complexity.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, managing expectations and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Chair and facilitate project governance meetings, workshops, and committee discussions, ensuring productive engagement and clear decision-making.
  • Coordinate resources, manage workloads, and optimise team productivity across multiple workstreams.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and driving timely resolutions.
  • Support the development of business cases and monitor project budgets to ensure effective cost management and value delivery.
  • Manage project change requests, ensuring scope changes are properly assessed, controlled, and communicated.
  • Maintain end-to-end quality assurance across project documentation, deliverables, benefits realisation, and project governance.
  • Ensure operational readiness by supporting implementation planning, business change impact assessments, and transition into business-as-usual activities.
  • Deliver accurate and timely project reporting, ensuring compliance with established project management standards and governance frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and applying best practices across future initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience delivering technology projects and organisational change or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of project governance frameworks and structured delivery methodologies.
  • Experience working within complex, matrix-managed environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver successful outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading governance forums, steering committees, and stakeholder workshops.
  • Strong knowledge of project lifecycle management, risk management, budgeting, and change control processes.
  • Excellent project planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Effective facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
