Our client is seeking a full-time Service Operation Centre (SOC) Support Technician to join their dynamic team in Douglas, Isle of Man. This role is vital for ensuring effective Service Assurance of core networks and systems within a 24/7/365 operational environment. You will support various key areas including Customer Technology Services, Business Services, and Network Services, playing a crucial role in delivering world-class service to both local and global customers. The position involves a shift pattern of 2 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, with 12-hour shifts either from 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. JOB DUTIES:
- Work as part of a team to ensure the effective service assurance of core networks and systems.
- Support key business areas including Customer Technology Services, Business Services, and Network Services.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Proactively identify and present solutions to problems within the service operation.
- Take ownership and responsibility for tasks and areas of work.
- Ensure transparent communication regarding ongoing incidents at the shift changes.
- Undertake necessary visits to other organisation buildings using provided vehicles.
- Adapt and work flexibly across shifts as required.
- Maintain high standards of professional conduct at all times.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar support environment is essential.
- Experience with ITIL Incident & Change Management practices is required.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
- A full and clean driving licence is required for the use of company vehicles.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications is essential.
- Desirable experience with ServiceNow Change & Incident Management or a similar platform.
- Knowledge of the telecoms industry is an advantage.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities are necessary.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach is essential.
- A commitment to punctuality and flexibility in working hours is expected.
- Educational qualifications should include a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English, at grade A-B.
- Candidates may have started or obtained a recognised Telecoms qualification, such as CCNA.
