Junior Data Analyst

Our client is a leading insurance provider in the Channel Islands, committed to using data to enhance decision-making and customer outcomes. They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Junior Data Analyst. This full-time position will be based in Guernsey or Jersey and offers an excellent opportunity to develop your analytical skills and build a career within a supportive and collaborative environment. You will work closely with colleagues across various departments to create meaningful reports and dashboards that drive operational and strategic decisions. In this role, you will support the collection and analysis of data across the business, helping to turn complex data into valuable insights. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of reporting tools and ensure the accuracy and consistency of data across various systems.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Support the development and maintenance of reports and dashboards using Power BI and Excel.
  • Collect, validate and analyse data from a variety of business sources.
  • Assist with the production of regular management information and performance reporting.
  • Identify trends, patterns and opportunities through data analysis.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting requirements.
  • Help ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports and systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights.
  • Undertake ad hoc analysis and project work as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A qualification in, or working towards, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Finance or a related field is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills are essential.
  • The ability to communicate information clearly to a range of audiences is necessary.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn new skills is expected.
  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau or other reporting tools would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SQL or data querying techniques would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience working with large datasets is preferred.
  • An understanding of insurance or financial services would be advantageous.
  • A curious mindset with an interest in data visualisation and business intelligence is preferred.
