Our client is seeking a Temporary Assistant Accountant to support their finance team until 15 January 2026. This is a part-time role based in Jersey, working four hours per day, Monday to Friday. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual seeking flexible hours while applying their accounting skills in a supportive office environment.
Job Duties:
- Perform daily bookkeeping and data entry tasks
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Support invoice processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Generate basic financial reports as needed
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders including auditors and suppliers
Job Requirements:
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach in a dynamic environment
- Proactive and deadline-driven mindset
