Technical Consultant

Our client is seeking a Technical Consultant to join their Operations/Consultancy team. This role involves installing, testing, commissioning, demonstrating, and maintaining unified communication products while ensuring quality, security, and timely delivery. The successful candidate will analyse customer Digital Communication environments and recommend or implement system improvements or modifications. They will also attend client meetings to scope and validate business requirements, providing pre-sales technical advice and consultancy. Additionally, the role requires developing clear written proposals outlining solution options and resource needs, managing customer projects, and overseeing installation within agreed timescales. There will be a need to liaise with various departments and external trades to coordinate effective project delivery. Furthermore, the consultant will test completed solutions, gain customer sign-off, and ensure seamless handover to service-facing teams.

Job Duties:

  • Install, test, commission, demonstrate, and maintain unified communication products.
  • Analyse customer Digital Communication environments and recommend improvements or modifications.
  • Attend client meetings to scope and validate business requirements.
  • Provide pre-sales technical advice, consultancy, and solution design.
  • Develop proposals outlining solution options and resource needs.
  • Manage customer projects, overseeing installation and implementation within timescales.
  • Liaise with departments, suppliers, and external trades for project delivery.
  • Test solutions, gain customer sign-off, and ensure effective handover to service-facing teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to colleagues, customers, suppliers, and operators.
  • Support New Product Integration by working with suppliers on emerging technologies.
  • Clear work orders and faults promptly for timely billing and service performance.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting Mitel enterprise telephony and unified communications platforms, including on-premises, hybrid, and cloud deployments.
  • Hands-on delivery experience across voice architecture, call routing, SIP, trunks, and gateways within Mitel environments.
  • Demonstrable experience leading or supporting Mitel migrations, upgrades, and platform modernisation.
  • Strong understanding of voice quality, resilience, high availability, and disaster recovery design.
  • Experience producing and maintaining technical designs, low-level configurations, and operational handover documentation.
  • Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating requirements into implementable solutions.
  • Experience working within structured delivery frameworks, including discovery, design, build, test, and handover phases.
